Dave Wilson

President/Project Manager

Dave Wilson joined Spar Construction in 2003 after working as a property adjuster for a major insurance company. His combined experience in insurance and construction brings a balanced, practical approach to every restoration project.
 
Becoming a Partner in 2012, Dave has been instrumental in Spar’s growth and commitment to quality. He holds IICRC Water Damage Restoration, and is credited with launching Spar’s EcoClaim environmental program, promoting sustainable and responsible restoration practices.
 
Beyond his professional work, Dave has held involvement in Hockey helps the Homeless for over a decade, supporting the community and helping provide opportunities for those in need.

Ken Lakhram, CET

Sr. Partner/Project Manager

Ken Lakhram has been a dedicated leader in the restoration industry since graduating in 1981 with a diploma in Building Construction Engineering Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He joined Spar Construction Ltd. as a Partner in 1988 and earned his Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation in 1989.

With decades of experience in project management, Ken is recognized for his expertise, mentorship, and ability to foster strong, lasting relationships with clients and insurance professionals alike. His guidance and knowledge continue to be a cornerstone of Spar’s success.

Alex McIntosh

Partner/Project Manager

Alex McIntosh began his career with SPAR in 1996 as a laborer and earned his Red Seal Carpenter certification. With over two decades in commercial and industrial construction, both on the tools and in management, he brings hands-on expertise and leadership to every project. Since 2018, Alex has served as a Project Manager and Partner at SPAR, applying his IIRC certification and deep industry experience to deliver quality results.

Tye Smith

Partner/Project Manager

Tye Smith brings over a decade of project management experience to the Spar team. Beginning his career as a Project Manager in 2010, Tye joined Spar in 2017 and has been a driving force behind the company’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. As a Partner and certified IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation specialist, he combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership to ensure every project meets the highest standards of safety and performance.

Karen Marianicz, CPA, CMA

Controller

Karen joined Spar Construction Ltd. in 2013 as our Controller. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and earned her CPA designation the same year after completing the Certified Management Accounting program. Karen’s financial expertise and attention to detail help ensure Spar’s operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Cory Wood

Project Manager

Cory’s journey began in his early 20’s leading to the launch of his own company, specializing in hardwood, laminate, vinyl plank, and tile installations. Over the years, he has completed numerous renovations and re-designs, gaining a well-rounded understanding of residential construction from start to finish. After more than 15 years subcontracting with Spar Interiors (formerly Carley’s Flooring), he took the next step by joining Spar as a Project Manager, bringing over two decades of proven leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality on every job.
